When we look seriously at things, we see them seriously. When we lighten up about things we can see the funny side of life: i.e. the part where change happens. A famous family therapist explained that the secret to successfully working with families is watch what the family are doing and present it back to them, in such a way that it appears as comical as it really is - After all you wouldn't want someone to try and make you feel good would you? Not for no reason and especially not when its time to be disappointed. Get people in a good mood, get them laughing, tell them funny everyday stories which demonstrate important principles whilst keeping them open and engaged, help them feel good about themselves, provide them with a memorable and powerful experience to cement in learning and then give them some time to reflect on the future. Tony believes these are the essential ingredients for a successful learning experience. If people don't leave on a high, thinking and talking about their experiences then the chances are that not much more is going to happen for most of them. Tony is a skilled and gifted speaker who engages with people easily and naturally. He explains complex principles using simple everyday language and examples. He is a dedicated life long learner and as well as taking his own medicine, he knows his onions. He was acclaimed JCI Best UK trainer 2005, European Debating Championship winning team captain 2005, BJC Most outstanding public speaker in 2002 and in 2006 was JCI 'off the cuff speaking' champion. Tony has 20 years of experience in UK management and has worked as a trainer in the areas of Leadership, Communication and Team Building, with many of the countries largest and successful companies and organisations (M&S, Tesco, Diageo, BT, Royal Mail, NHS, Pfizer, Fujitsu to name but a handful). In his spare time Tony helps to run a drama group for adults with learning difficulties which he describes as being 'the thing I'm most proud of and continually humbled by, in my life so far'. All we really need is a vision to inspire us, self belief to give us determination, a sense of humour to keep us happy and other people to help us and keep us sane. Everything else required is a product of these simple things.
